[Food Review] O'Flaherty's Irish Restaurant and Bar.

By Lasmarya Hadi Purwanto - June 01, 2016

Finally got a chance to come to this well-known Irish restaurant in Medan after more than ten years. I still remember when I first went here with my family when I was just a small little kid, I was left with an unique impression. It was dim, not much lighting, but it somehow felt cool for the little me, cause everything was written in English, the menu, the story. And at that time, it was one of the fanciest restaurant in town. (Much thanks to daddy, for bringing us to a fancy restaurant though it might cost quite a lot <3) And this time, when I came back, I got exactly the same impression. There's no much change. Indeed, there's no change at all. I like the way they keep everything consistent. :)

 Chicken Risotto
(is actually fried rice in cooler name, haha)

The famous Baby Back Ribs
(It tastes really good, with good seasoning, very tender meat and juicy)

 Fried Calamari

 Beef Lasagna
(one of the best pick of the day, it may not look that appetizing, but this is one the tastiest among those ordered, and it is so yuuumm!)

 Pizza Contedina

 Mixed Fries
(at first, when this was served, we were very very disappointed, as we thought this was way too usual for a fancy restaurant, we even thought that these are nuggets sold in packages in supermarkets, but after some bites, you can see the big difference, they made these all themselves, you will get fuller meat and better taste.)

The members :)
As you can see, the lighting inside the restaurant is really dim, that it was too hard to get a decent photo taken.
psst, btw they said, this place is most suitable for lovers cause they only provide you candle light.
Maybe you could pick it up as first date venue?

O'Flaherty's is pretty much one of the most long-standing restaurant in Medan, though with quite costly price, but they do really serve the taste that is worth the price. Though it is not recommended for daily eating out venue, as it will make your pocket suffer haha, but it is highly recommended if you want to have a taste of original western food in Medan, and hey, there's not many restaurants with settings like this, so it might be quite a variation if you want to have a candle-light dinner?. :)
