[Travelogue] Hiking Sibayak: Uphill We Go (Part 3)!

By Lasmarya Hadi Purwanto - May 30, 2015

The last day!

In the morning, we rode a public transportation by ourselves to the town and had breakfast in the area which sells a lot of Chinese food. It was soo crowded that day since it's Saturday and it's a long weekend holiday, so it seemed like a lot people coming up from Medan to spend their weekend in Brastagi. Finished our breakfast, rode another public transportation back to homestay and got ready for the trip for the rest of the day.

Riding a different kind of Ferrari, wkwk we headed to another part of Brastagi, Si Piso-Piso waterfall and Tongging. The homestay's owner was really helpful in arranging the transportation for us. The driver himself (different from the one who drove us to Sibayak) was very friendly too. Well, in my mind, usually when we're travelling, we'll ride some kind of car or bus(travel bus) rented for us, but not this kind of transportation. Yet, riding it while exploring Brastagi felt very local, authentic and somehow fun too. Haha. There's nothing special about riding a luxurious car while travelling, but when you ride on an angkot, weirdly it sounds cool. Haha

(The Ferrari I was talking about XD)

The first stop was Si Piso-Piso waterfall. It was crowded as usual and the weather was quite sunny then, so we tried to find somewhere with no people, great views and took some pictures really quickly.
(Lake Toba seen from Si Piso-Piso)

(Do you notice the graffiti on the wall? Well, it's sad that people sometimes don't care about these beautiful places. There are lots of beautiful places in Indonesia, but with all the trashes that people left behind and all the graffiti, I think it will just ruin the beauty of the nature and Indonesia will suffer great loss because of that. We should start paying attention and taking care of our own country.)

After some shots at Si Piso-Piso, we moved on to Tongging for our lunch. :) The lunch there is famous for its freshness because all the fishes are taken directly from the man-made fishpond right at the lake.

While waiting for our lunch and strategic seats facing Lake Toba, we took another photos around the area. XD

+Winda Chai 's very funny photo-bombing XD)

Finally got the favorite spot in the restaurant! Non-stop taking pictures because the view was sooooo greaaaaaatt!

(Continuous shots credited to +Winda Chai )
(The fishpond where they breed the fishes)
(These kids would really love to show you the art of retrieving coins which you throw to the lake.)

(Our scrumptious lunch :d)

Got a sight of Si Piso-Piso on our way back from Tongging. :)

The way back was quite long, because Brastagi got soooo crowded for the weekend, and we got into a very looooong traffic jam. Even so, we had great time laughing thanks to +Erick Young showing us his ability in singing. :D:D

While waiting for Daniel's brother to come pick us up, we chit-chatted for a while with Ci Merry and played with the adorable Nachelle!! She's so cuteee <3

It took us around 5 hours to reach Medan, when it's usually only 2 hours, because of the super duper longg traffic jam. Phew.
The weird thing was, we're supposed to sleep all the way home, but most of us didn't sleep even a bit for the whole 5 hours, because there's always something to talk about, to laugh at, to recall, to tease each other with. It was that much fun we had. It's just felt like a waste if we chose to sleep as we would miss the chance to laugh out loud.
Yes, we're definitely loud, weird, crazy! We're insanely comfortable to each other that even farting with everyone's around is not taboo anymore. :)

It was a very fun trip exploring Brastagi with you guys! Thankyou for being crazy the whole trip! Thankyouu for giving me a lot of story to tell! :D
